Yee Ha to yall from Tamworth. We decided to leave the extremely wet weather on the NSW coast and head inland a bit. So we have been travelling south through Nimbin, (where Wally wanted to become a hippy and was asked by a woman if he was smoking today???) Tenterfield, Walcha, Glen Innes and Tamworth. The weather has been absolutely beautiful each day with sunny, blue skies and freezing cold nights.
Tenterfield was a great little town although bigger than we expected. Of course, we visited the Tenterfield saddlery (see pics below), which was really interesting. Tamworth wasnt what we expected, though. We went to the Tamworth Line Dancing Festival, but it wasnt really a festival with dancing in the streets etc, but state competitions. The Country Music Hall of Fame was of interest to Wally (I only knew of Smoky, Dusty and the Hawking Bros) and they showed us a video of Smoky Dawson which was really good but was overtaken by the noise of the building works going on outside the window. We also went to a Monster Truck Show which included stunt bikes and a concert by Adam Brand really good night.
Well be heading north/west now and heading towards Lightning Ridge, then Toowoomba and Brisbane.
Till next time,
Cheers Yvonne & Wally
PS, dont forget to leave a comment on the blog to say youve had a look. Just scroll to the bottom of the photos and youll see where you can leave a message, thanks, Yvonne
