Jenn – Jenns Trip to Spain!,Spain,7

Hola a todos!  Well I just got back from another weekend of traveling!  I was in Madrid this past weekend with my Uncle Brian!  I took the high speed train from Sevilla to Madrid (the ave).  It was awesome – I liked it a lot better than flying – there was more room and a lot more comfortable.  Everytime we went through a tunnel, my ears would pop really bad!  When I finally made it to Madrid, I navigated the metro subway system all by myself!  I didn’t even get lost!  I made my way to Petit Palace Hotel to meet my Uncle – very nice hotel, thanks Brian 🙂

After relaxing for a bit, Brian took me out on the town.  We walked around the city for awhile and saw the Palacio Real, some gardens, Plaza Mayor (popular place for people gathering) and the catedral.  We then met up with some of Brian’s friends for dinner – we ate enough food to be full for days!!  After that, we went to a little bar where we watched some flamenco singing and guitar playing – there was a guy there who seriously swallowed a basketball and his teeth were about to fall out with every word he sang – quite hilarious!

On Saturday, we slept in, then met up with some more friends for lunch – Brian definitly spoiled me with good meals!  Afterwards, we made our way to the Prado Muesum – it was huge!  You could probably spend an entire day there and not see everything.  We also say the Plaza de la Puerta de Sol – the very center of Spain!  That night for dinner we went to Brian’s friend’s apartment and they made us dinner – it was delicious!  After a long day…we retreated back to the hotel!

Sunday morning we went to mass!  After we went to el Rastro – the flea market in Madrid.  There was a ton of people everywhere!  They had a lot of neat things and a lot of junk as well!  After meandering through the streets all morning we relaxed and enjoyed a lovely lunch – i accidently ordered a huge plate of peas – but they ended up being one of my favorite things to eat all weekend – they had so much flavor!  Later, I had to catch the train again back to Sevilla – again no problems!!  I even figured out how to take a bus home from the train station in Sevilla – I’m so resourceful!   Now back to reality – I have a lot of work to do so I can celebrate next weekend for my birthday! (I’ll finally be in Sevilla for a weekend!)  Adios for now!
